What we Do

Children in Wales’ core activities include:

  • Advising, supporting and representing members
  • Disseminating information on policy, research and best practice
  • Promoting Wales-based research about children and families
  • Co-ordinating policy initiatives agreed with members
  • Educating the public on children's issues
  • Acting as a focal point for campaigns supporting the interests of children
  • Provide a public mouthpiece for children especially the most disadvantaged
  • Drawing attention to serious deficiencies in services for children
  • Improving services through practice development projects
  • Facilitating and supporting the work of others with similar aims
  • Promoting issues and good practice in Wales the UK, Europe and Internationally
  • A range of training events
  • Co-ordinating a number of forums and networks  
  • Children in Wales is represented either by staff members or associates on a wide range of committees and bodies that have an impact on policy development.
  • Children in Wales hires out conference and meeting rooms at our main office in Cardiff
