The purpose of the Order is to extend the legislative competence of the National Assembly for Wales to make new laws for Wales by Measure in relation to vulnerable children and child poverty.

26/06/08 WAC report published
23/07/08 Government response to the WAC report published
15/10/08 Draft LCO laid before Parliament for approval by both Houses
12/11/08 A Delegated Legislation Committee considered the draft Order before approval by the House of Commons. A Grand Committee of the House of Lords also considered the draft Order
17/11/08 House of Commons approves the draft Order. House of Lords approves the draft Order
10/12/08 Royal approval received
