A Fair Future for Our Children, 8/2/05 [W]
The Assembly's strategy to cut child poverty, A Fair Future for Children, was launched on 8 February 2005. The strategy sets out how the Welsh Assembly Government will work to ensure that the UK Government's targets on child poverty are met. The strategy outlines how child poverty in Wales can be cut by half by 2010 and eliminated completely by 2020.
The strategy covers thee main aspects needed to tackle child poverty. Namely:

Participation Poverty - this involves work to ensure that disadvantaged children are not left out of leisure and social activities. It also involves anti-discrimination and bullying work and ensuring that the voices of disadvantaged young people are heard.
Service Poverty - this involves work to ensure all sections of society have equal access to public services.
