The Welsh Assembly Government has published its Strategy on Welsh medium education and an accompanying Implementation Programme.
The strategy focuses on the way Welsh-medium education is delivered, including responding to parental demand for Welsh-medium school places. It encourages local authorities to work closely in partnership to improve Welsh-medium planning and provision.
The Strategy also includes plans to increase post-14 Welsh medium and bilingual opportunities, particularly in the Further Education sector and in Work Based Learning, and also looks at plans to improve practitioner training for Welsh and bilingual teaching and learning.
