Carmarthenshire Family Adviser Service
Carmarthenshire Family Adviser Service

FAS are an information-based service for anyone that has a query relating to Learning Disability.

We can help with all kinds of enquiries including:

Clubs and Groups in your area
Holidays and Leisure
Direct Payments
Funding/Grants
Special Educational Needs
Will and Trusts
Welfare benefits and much more

If we cannot answer a query we will signpost to another agency that can.

We work with parent/carers and hold information sessions on any number of subject matters, depending on what is current.

We have close links with parent representatives and feed into local authority planning meetings any issues/concerns that parent/carers may have and also identify gaps within service provision.

We have a family forum called ‘Chat Cymru’ on the Mencap Cymru website, which is a space that parent/carers can talk and support one another through experiences.

There are 3 members of the FAS team -

Cindy Jenkins – Children related enquiries (01267) 232256 ext 306
Nicky Gilbert – Adult related enquiries (01267) 232256 ext 305
Alli Maskell – Adult related enquiries (01267) 232256 ext 307

FAS is a service within Mencap Cymru and is based at

Glien House
Cillefwr Ind Estate
