Young Disabled Persons Network

Since the International Congress of 2003, Children in Wales in partnership with Funky Dragon, has been active in the setting up of a network of young disabled people. The Wales Network of Young Disabled People has the following as its aims:

Aims

The project aims to give young disabled people from across Wales opportunities to:

  • Meet and have fun
  • Understand their rights
  • Raise issues of concern to them in their everyday lives
  • Have a voice in decisions affecting them and their peers
  • Build their capacity to become effective agents in the decision making process

Children in Wales is a joint sponsor in the Reach the Heights project, supporting young people to gain skills for learning and employment through work experience and community based opportunities.
