All Wales Forum on Issues for Disabled Children and Young People
All Wales Forum on Issues for Disabled Children and Young People

The Forum is a multi agency group that shares information and good practice and lobbies for issues relating to disabled children and young people.

The Aims of the Forum are:

  • To be an overarching group to look at specific issues, (interests, campaigns etc) for disabled children and young people
  • To improve the effectiveness of services for disabled children and young people and their families in Wales
  • To raise awareness and campaign on issues for disabled children and young people and act as a pressure group for change.

Who Attends?

The Forum is currently attended by professionals from education, health social services and the voluntary sector who work with disabled children and young people.

What Happens in Forum Meetings?

The programme for each forum includes presentations given by representatives from organisations who work with disabled children, discussion on key topics and the development of consultation responses. There is also an opportunity for members to share information about recent activities in an Information Exchange.

Frequency of Meetings

The All Wales Forum meets three times a year in Mid Wales.
