Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

The Welsh Government has produced advice for health professionals with the aim of raising awareness about CO poisoning.

Northern Ireland Home Safety Strategy

In 2004, the Northern Ireland Department for Health, Social Services & Public Safety (DHSS&PS) produced a five year Home Accident Prevention Strategy and Action Plan. The main objectives of the Strategy were to:

  • Reduce home accidents, particularly in those most at risk (under 5s and over 65s)
  • To raise awareness of the causes and promote effective preventative measures
  • Promote and facilitate effective training, skills and knowledge across all relevant organisation, groups and individuals.

In just five years, Northern Ireland has achieved an astonishing 54% drop in hospital admissions caused by accidents in the home.
