National Occupational Standards for Work with Parents Review Event
National Occupational Standards for Work with Parents Review Event

Location: Media Resource Centre, Llandrindod Wells
Date: 20 Sep 2010
Organiser: LLUK and Children in Wales

Lifelong Learning UK are currently reviewing the National Occupational Standards for Work with Parents. LLUK and Children in Wales are hosting a review event on 20 September and we would be pleased to see your organisation represented on the day.

Lifelong Learning UK is the UK-wide sector skills council for the lifelong learning sector who work to create new National Occupational Standards (NOS) and update current ones, through consultation with employers and stakeholders from relevant sectors and across the four nations.

The standards were approved in April 2005, and LLUK have worked with the sector to develop a new functional map in March 2010 to reflect the changes in the workforce since 2005. Those involved were enthused to be involved with the development and the functional mapping was shared across the sector including at the Parenting UK Conference and other events across the four nations.  LLUK are now working with a group of experienced practitioners to consider the detail and to draft a revised suite of NOS.

Get Involved

It is important that we work closely with the sector to ensure that the final standards meet the need of those that use them and we would encourage you to take part in the review.

The public review period will be open from 27 August and will close on the 24 September.

LLUK and Children in Wales are hosting a review event and we would be pleased to see your organisation represented on the day.  To book a place, please download a booking form and return to markisherwood@lluk.org or emmajenkins@lluk.org

Time:10.30am - 1pm (including lunch)

Alternative opportunities:

If you are not able to attend, you can provide electronic feedback during the open review period – the draft standards and a questionnaire will be available to download from LLUK's website.

If you have a group within your organisation or network with interest in the review, you can ‘host your own’ event.  This allows flexibility to focus on any areas within the standards that are of key importance to your activities, allows you to decide on when and how long your groups discuss the draft standards.  LLUK will supply materials and feedback forms to support you: Please send LLUK your feedback by the 24 September.
