Barnardo's: Part Time Project Worker (PW1)

£11,595.27 pa, 25 hours per week – days and hours to be mutually agreed, Fixed Term initially until 28th February 2011

BounceBack Project Mental Health Issues – Marlborough Road Partnership, Cardiff

You’ll provide a range of support services for young people aged 12-19 who have experienced, are experiencing, or are at risk of experiencing, mental health crisis.

You’ll also establish and provide a direct advice and support service to vulnerable young people in four indentified schools in Cardiff in years 10 and 11, particularly those who are experiencing, at risk of or are recovering from mental health crisis.

It is essential you have the following:

  • Knowledge of mental health services available to children and young people.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting young people and the systems which impact upon their lives (health, benefits, education, employment, housing).
  • Direct face to face work with vulnerable young people aged 12-21 who experience mental health issues. Involvement in establishing and working with support networks for young people.
  • Involvement in designing and implementing group and individual programmes of work with vulnerable young people.
  • Ability to work on one's own initiative.
