A one-day course facilitated by Windfall Training

The aim of this training is to help those working with children and young people gain a deeper understanding of the functional nature of behaviours that we consider challenging, and identify positive and progressive ways of responding. The course will offer a practice-based forum to consider ways of working with children whose behaviour creates a barrier in social, learning and play relationships. It also covers behaviour in different ages and ranges of ability, underpinning the communicative nature of behaviour.

This course will include:

  • The functional nature of behaviour and working with the ABC framework of assessment
  • A variety of evidence-based strategies to respond to difficult and aggressive behaviours
  • Crisis intervention guidance
  • How to cope with our own responses and personal stress

Members £115
